After studying Mechanical Engineering, Brian embarked on a lengthy career in finance. He spent his formative years with GEC before joining Citibank at the end of 1974.
Brian left Citibank in April 1999 to set up a banking operation for AMP in the UK. and built a banking business from scratch and turned a vision into reality with assets under management of over £400m and retail deposits of over £60m. He became Managing Director in June 2000.
A highly accomplished strategic, business and risk professional with extensive experience in the financial services sector having operated at International Board level.
More recently Brian has focused on the changing regulatory environment and in particular the impact of Basel II, Sarbanes-Oxley and Mortgage Regulation on the banking sector.
Brian has been involved in a number of complex change management assignments with specific skills around people, culture and process and has hands on experience in risk management, both credit and operational risk.
Brian is a charismatic leader who has the proven ability to create an environment for others to perform through values based leadership.
