Paul’s expertise is primarily in the controlling functions of financial institutions of all sizes and he was a founding partner of EBC European Business Consultants in 1998.
In his eighteen years at Citibank, Paul was instrumental in building several businesses, including a joint venture credit card organisation.
Since leaving Citibank in 1998, he has helped many leading global financial organisations with their financial reporting systems.
Paul has a wide knowledge of the banking industry, especially Private Banking, Investment Banking and Credit Cards.
He is a charismatic leader with who has a proven track ability to create an environment for others to perform through value based leadership.
Over the last three years Paul has focussed extensively on the changing regulatory environment impacting financial services organisations and in particular the impact of Basel II and Sarbanes Oxley.
First he helped a major international consultancy group evaluate and re-enter the financial services sector using the changing regulatory environment as a platform for their new offering. The offering was largely based around Basel II.
Over the last twelve months Paul has been instrumental in setting up a large Sarbanes Oxley team for a major UK based retail bank. This involved setting up a team of 35 professionals to complete the documentation, design effectiveness and testing for compliance with section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley act. This was a complex project and was completed on time and to budget, before being transitioned into BAU. Paul is currently helping a large international assurance group meet their Sarbanes-Oxley objectives.
Prior to these engagements Paul had been involved with a number of financial institutions in their development of their Basel II programme, and over the several years has developed a team of senior bankers with expertise in all aspects of Basel II, including credit, operational risk and reporting.
Paul is a highly accomplished strategic, business and financial profession with extensive international experience in the financial services industry having operated at senior levels in major global financial institutions.
