Richard Hill has been involved with financial services and insurance in marketing, general management and consultancy capacities since 1978.
He has worked for American Express, Welbeck Finance and Citibank in marketing roles leading the development of not only their core products but also their cross sales. For example at Welbeck Finance he developed e range of general and life insurance products that produced over 15% of profits.
He was a General Manager at Royal Insurance and created their direct insurance operations (now called MORE TH>N), from green fields start up with fully integrated CRM and profitable underwriting at less than 70% ELR, over 600,000 customers and £16 million in profits within 7 years.
Thereafter he became a Director of the publicly quoted Oriel Group and helped to restructure the company, turn it’s major subsidiary from cash negative to positive and then completed the turn-round and brought together management team for £20m MBO, leading the development of new IT systems and call centre, product development & underwriting and also launched a reinsurance captive.
As a consultant from 1997 he worked with Norwich Union, Willis – helping them to outsource their personal lines operations – National Savings and Viridian Group.
Richard presently works with EBC and also with E-CRM Solutions, an internet marketing & CRM consultancy, as well as being non-executive chairman of Innovantage, a vertical search engine for the recruitment market, and as a non-executive director of Innovecom, an IT networking company.
